Bird of Paradise This lady was inspired by some peacock feathers I had been hoarding for many years because 'I might find use for them one day', and those wonderful bronze Art-Deco dancing ladies . I decided to test how much of a figure I could sculpt convincingly, so consequently she is entirely made from air-drying clay except for her lower torso. Her costume is made from semi-sheer fabrics that pick up the colours of the peacock feathers, embellished with beads and more feathers. She is fixed to her hand-turned wooden base and stands 11 inches high x 7 inches wide x 9 inches deep. £175
