Scheherazade These figures were inspired by my all-time favourite piece of music - 'Scheherazade' by Rimsky-Korsakov. I also love the concept of the original story, where the woman's intelligence defeats the man's brutality - an early bit of Women's lib! This image began life as a painting done when I was about 17 years old. When I transferred my artistic efforts to dolls instead of paper, it just had to be re-created. The setting is in total 9 1/2 inches high x 15 1/12 inches wide x 8 1/2 inches deep. The figures have heads and limbs of air-drying clay and their costumes are embellished with hand embroidery and beadwork. £250
